Planned Giving

You may wish to donate a specific amount to Parkinsons Auckland but do not have all of the funds available at one time. Through our planned giving programme you can make a pledge for a specific amount that you nominate and spread the payment out over a set number of years. Most people find it helpful if we remind them when pledges are due. Email us here to find out how or for more details.

Assign Income from Investments

Income from shares or other investments can be assigned to Parkinsons Auckland. Under New Zealand law you can assign this income on a basis which means that it is not taxable. Consult your accountant or financial advisor for details. Email us here to find out how or for more details.

Form a Trust

There are a number of options for establishing a trust either during your lifetime or in your will. This may involve income from specified assets, or the settlement of money or assets on either a one-off or continuing basis. Discuss your options with your solicitor or financial advisor about the options. Email us here to find out how or for more details.

Assign your Life Insurance

Rather than cancelling a life insurance policy which you feel you no longer require, consider continuing it and assigning the benefit to Parkinsons Auckland. Email us here to find out how or for more details.

Specify a Funeral Donation

Ask friends and family to dedicate a gift in memory of a loved one. This can be arranged with your funeral director. Email us here to find out how or for more details.

Bequests

How to make a bequest

There are a number of ways to leave a bequest to Parkinsons Auckland.

1. Leave a specific gift (a specified amount of money, jewellery, shares, real estate). For example, the gift of a car can provide a trade-in for a vehicle for one of our district nurses.

2. Specify a percentage of your estate

3. Specify a residual bequest. This allows you to leave specific gifts to family, friends and colleagues, and then bequeath the remaining part of your estate to Parkinsons Auckland.

To make such a gift, please include the following statement in your Will:

“I give the sum of $  (or description of property give) to Parkinsons Auckland for its general purposes (or for a specified purpose) for which the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officers shall be a good discharge thereof to my trustees.”

A “Bequest Guide” is available with further details

Please contact the Fundraising Office if you have any queries concerning donations, bequests or how you can support our work in the community.
